Korean Names That Mean Flower
Flowers carry a soft, hopeful symbolism in Korean culture, so it is no surprise they bloom through its names too — sometimes as the plain native word, sometimes through the elegant Hanja 花. Here are five flower-themed names.
1. 꽃 — Kkot
The native Korean word for "flower," used affectionately as a name. It is simple, sweet, and unmistakable — flower, pure and plain. Native Korean, no Hanja.
2. 송이 — Songi
A native name meaning a single bloom or blossom — the word you would use for "one flower." It is soft and pretty, with a gentle, rounded sound. Native Korean, no Hanja.
3. 화 — Hwa
The Hanja 花 means "flower," read as 화. On its own it has a classic feel; in practice it usually appears paired inside a two-syllable name.
4. 화영 — Hwayeong
A pairing of 花 ("flower") and 英 ("brilliant," and also "petal/blossom"). Together it reads as something like "blossoming brilliance" — elegant and a touch traditional.
5. 채화 — Chaehwa
From 彩 ("color") and 花 ("flower"), this one means "colorful flower." It has a vivid, painterly feel, like a garden in full bloom.
A quick honest note: the 화-names lean a little classic, so they read as graceful and timeless rather than trendy. Want a name matched to your own personality? The quiz takes about a minute.
